Georgia Horse ActivitesThe 2nd annual statewide EQUESTRIAN TRAIL WORKDAY at all Georgia State
Parks that provide equestrian trails will be Saturday, March 8,
2008. BCHNG will sponsor the work activities again this year. The
trail activities begin promptly at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine. Several of
us will be staying from Friday until Sunday. You are welcome to join us,
camp for the weekend and ride the beautiful trails at Fort Mountain State
Park! The park is located 3 mi. from Chatsworth off Hwy. 52E, at the end
of Cliff Mine Rd. If you have never had the opportunity to ride there,
the trails are really interesting and some pass historic Talc Mines. Many
offer great vistas and are really beautiful. Fort Mountain State Park
is the ONLY state park in North Georgia with horse facilities. Please
contact Susan Shedd and come enjoy a weekend of fun and fellowship with
other trail riders. Lunch will be furnished for volunteers and we are
planning a pot luck supper on Saturday night. Bring a dish and join us!
July 7 & 8 - Special Two Day introductory clinic with Dave Seay.
Beginners to advanced riders. $150 for both days! For more information: The Back Country Horsemen of North Georgia are sponsoring a workday/camping
weekend at Fort Mountain State Park July 13-15, 2007. We will
be checking in on Friday, having a light workday of pruning & cleaning
brush on Saturday a.m. Then having our July meeting on Saturday afternoon
and a potluck supper around the campfire on Saturday night. Please bring
a covered dish or something to share for the potluck and come enjoy a
great weekend of fun & trail riding. Show your appreciation for the
only state park with horse trails in North Georgia!! July 14 - Trail Ride Clinic with Dave Seay. Is your horse afraid of scary
objects? Reluctant to cross water? Make trail riding safer and more fun
